Introduction. In this review, the author presents his life experiences and knowledge about Chagas disease, as expressed in the literary essay "return to the past to return to the present". Traveling through history by shooting approaches analyze past and present realities of that american trypanosomiasis. Objectives. Perform a panoramic review of one of the most prevalent diseases in Latin America and current connotations in Argentina and its projections in the world. Maintain firm the role of education in a special way for prevention efforts in the control of Chagas-Mazza disease. Conclusions. So far in Chagas' disease, while not achieving more effective resources with which it can count to fight Trypanosoma cruzi so both the acute and the chronic infected patient, education, vector control and medication three pillars remain indisputable to resort for controlling the disease.
