Hemodynamic monitoring using wireless implantable sensor (CardioMEMS) in patients with heart failure First experience in Latin America post approval for clinical use Ambulatory hemodynamic monitoring of pulmonary artery pressures is a new tool based on the permanent implantation of a pulmonary artery pressure measurement catheter that allows stricter monitoring of patients with heart failure. Based on hemodynamic parameters, it is possible to optimize the treatment of patients before the clinical manifestations of decompensation are evident. This leads to a reduction in the number of hospitalizations due to heart failure, in a positive impact on quality of life and the reduction of health care costs. We show the first experience of the use of this technology in Latin America.
