Work Engagement at Universities. An Approach from Positive Occupational Health Psychology. This paper discusses the different psychosocial and organizational variables connected with work engagement. The research emphasizes aspects related to Positive Occupational Health Psychology, especially those concerning “Engagement”. The purposive sample includes 69 members of the supporting staff at Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, in Mendoza, Argentina. The methodology used combines some quantitative techniques -aiming to assess the sector’s levels of engagement, and some qualitative readings, which help provide an approximation to the expectations and values underlying employee engagement. Results show high levels of vigor and dedication at work, while absorption levels are lower. The qualitative aspect of the research, in turn, is based on predominantly positive views of self-performance and of the university as a work environment.
