Abstract

SILI, Marcelo Enrique  and  PAZZI, Andrés. Iniciativas productivas y construcción de un nuevo modelo productivo en la Patagonia norte: Limitantes y desafíos de futuro. Rev. Univ. geogr. [online]. 2020, vol.29, n.1, pp.69-97. ISSN 1852-4265.

The process of expansion and transformation of agriculture and livestock in Argentina has been evident for last two decades. The Patagonian region is not alien to this fact, however, the most interesting element in this area is the emergence of numerous productive initiatives, many of them innovative, favored by the rich endowment of natural resources, especially water, and lower relative prices of the land. This paper describes and analyzes the emergence of these initiatives and their limiting factors, such as the lack of infrastructure, supportive public policies and the weakness of those services necessary for these new productions to develop into dynamic and competitive clusters, without which they would be restricted to niche productions that only benefit from certain favorable natural conditions.

Keywords : Patagonia; Productive Initiatives; Agricultural Production; Natural Resources; Endogenous Development.
