Resumen

ILLESCAS, Raúl. Antonio Sánchez Barbudo y Guillermo de Torre: Una polémica durante la Guerra Civil española. Olivar [online]. 2006, vol.7, n.8, pp.291-299. ISSN 1852-4478.

Antonio Sánchez Barbudo and Guillermo de Torre maintained during 1937 a controversy around the art and to the social function of the intellectual and the artist. This one was provoked from an article published by Guillermo de Torre in Sur magazine, that it deserved the immediate answer of Bearded Sanchez as its secretary of the magazine Hora de España; and soon a second article of the theoretician of the vanguards. The controversy, like the one that maintained the artists Ramón Gaya and José Renau is exemplary in as much it allows to read the conditions of creation and the place of the commitment of the artist and intellectual, during the last moments of II Republic and in the middle of the Civil War. This work is part of an article in course that analyzes the discussion between intellectual outstanding in Sur magazine, in where two precise and differentiated positions specify affluent that they extend the context of the Spanish conflict.

Palabras clave : Sur magazine; Vanguard; Commitment.
