This work aims at demonstrate the importance of the cart's episode in the constitution and fixation process of the Arthurian cycle in France and in Spain. Therefore, we will examine Chrétien of Troyes' Le Chevalier de la Charrette, two different versions from Lancelot du Lac and the corresponding passage of the Libro de Lanzarote del Lago (ms. 9611 of the National Library of Madrid). The four versions are considered as textual different stages that demonstrate the literary and cultural changes taken place within them. As a result of the textual complex tradition, it is not possible to postulate a direct derivation among them, but rather we propose punctual analysis that contribute to characterize the literary constructions of that period.
