Abstract

ZADERENKO, Irene. Plegarias y fórmulas devotas en el Poema de Mio Cid. Olivar [online]. 2007, vol.8, n.10, pp.219-242. ISSN 1852-4478.

This article tackles the question of authorship in the Poema de mio Cid placing the poet in a monastery at the end of the twelfth century. The prayers that appear throughout the text show that the author was educated and devout, the characteristics of a clergyman. The knowledge of biblical events and the presence of words with their original Latin spellings in Jimena's prayer signal the ecclesiastical origins of the poem, probably in the monastery of Cardeña where the Cid was buried.

Keywords : Poema de Mio Cid; Prayer; Devotion; Cardeña.
