Abstract

SARACINO, Pablo. Longinos en el Poema de Mio Cid: espejos, identidades e ideología. Olivar [online]. 2007, vol.8, n.10, pp.265-276. ISSN 1852-4478.

This work centres on the passage of Poema de Mio Cid which mentions Longinus (vv. 351-357), the centurion that is said to have watched over Christ during the crucifixion, and miraculously recovered his sight when his blind eyes were anointed with the blood sprouted from Christ's side. The analysis focuses on the procedure through which this character is inserted [in narration] in order to relate him to the Cid and his men, thus establishing a chain of meanings whose ideological purpose is to frame the Cid's deeds in a set of identities with the great history of the people of God.

Keywords : Poema de Mio Cid; Narrative Prayer; Ideology; Typology.
