Abstract

STEENMEIJER, Maarten. La recepción europea de la obra de Manuel Vicent: un esbozo. Olivar [online]. 2008, vol.9, n.12, pp.173-189. ISSN 1852-4478.

There have been quite a few attempts to find an European public for Manuel Vicent’s work. The first of these took place around 1990, coinciding with the notable renewed interest in contemporary Spanish literature in the world republic of letters. On the basis of a comparative analysis of quantitative and qualitative facts and data we will evaluate the successive itineraries of his work through Europe. We will conclude that the reception of Vicent’s work has been varied and dispersed, and has hardly made any impact. Finally, we will propose an explanation for this phenomenon.

Keywords : European reception; Manuel Vicent.
