After describing the main lines of the interpretations of Henri-Frédéric Amiel’s diary held by Gregorio Marañón and Miguel de Unamuno, Otto Weininger’s work is brought up in this paper in order to consider both interpretations from a wider perspective that helps to discern which were Marañón’s and Unamuno’s interests when they analyzed Amiel’s life and personality.
