This article examines the schooling of the Toba/Qom population of Chaco and Buenos Aires (Argentina) considering the relationship of three kind of sources. On one hand, the analysis of school policies in the context of sociolinguistic diversity (from monolingual models to Intercultural Bilingual Education). On the other hand, the systematization of statistical material (Censo Nacional del INDEC 2001, 2010 and Encuesta Complementaria de Pueblos Indígenas 2004/2005). Finally, the documentation of the experiences of subjects about their school trajectories from deep interviews. Thus, it is understood the complexity for indigenous people of going through the school.
