Resumen
MORENO VELADOR, Octavio Humberto y FIGUEROA IBARRA, Carlos Alberto. La alternativa nacional popular en América latina. Pap. trab. - Cent. Estud. Interdiscip. Etnolingüíst. Antropol. Soc. [online]. 2014, n.28, pp.120-143. ISSN 1852-4508.
In this work, the authors contend that has been a misrepresentation about the nature of the so called progressive governments in Latin America. Since the right wing these governments are qualified as “populists” meaning this category as synonymous of bad government. Among some leftist sectors, the representation is that such governments are a version of neoliberalism. In this article, we contend that these new governments are part of a revolutionary process and have a national-popular character. Such character is based in the popular precedent that originated these governments, the role in that them assign to the State, the form in that them conceive the nation, the social investment that they do, the relationship that establish with the popular sectors and the type of Latin American integration that they are looking for.
