In the present work we propose to give an account of an approach that has been developed throughout the professional career of one of the authors Héctor Vázquez-, but that has been taken up by all of us.

This approach, called "Historical Criticism", is proposed as an attempt to overcome the analysis of various problems in the social and human sciences, especially the historical and sociocultural situation of indigenous peoples, a topic that we have been working on for decades.

We will formulate this approach, especially in what is inherent in the work, along with the Qom people (Toba) of Rosario and the Mapuche group, in the Nahuel Huapi National Park area (in the cordilleran region of the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén).
