We offer a treatment of the supraunit level (NS) of the data matrices (Samaja, 1993; Fernández, 2013) according to their usefulness for writing an academic article. We show how it can become a tool for text and paratext design. To do this: 1) we introduce the problem, as well as argue why we use the article itself as an object. 2) We dedicate a first section to data matrices and the importance of the supraunit level, a second, to the body of the text, and a third, to the paratext. 3) In the end, we make a meta-reflection focused on the methodology presented.
