SARTORI, Julieta. The ethnographic and ethnologic information as interpretative framework for zooarchaeological contexts in the Alluvial Plain of Parana River (Santa Fe, Argentina). Rev. Mus. Antropol. [online]. 2015, vol.8, n.2, pp.77-90. ISSN 1852-060X.

In this paper we develop historic information provide for different writings, which were produce by explorers that stay in the new continent during XVI and XVIII centuries. These documents give data about subsistence of hunter-gatherers that inhabit the Alluvial Plain of the Paraná River (east-center of Santa Fe) and adjacent sectors (i.e. Gran Chaco y Buenos Aires, Argentina). In addition, we also make references about the ethnographical researches for current and historical groups. In all cases we emphasis those which subsistence could be comparable with the hunter-gatherers that lived in the area under studied. Considering the different types of works that we refer, we aim to analyze if the information about the exploitation of fauna resources is useful to provide a frame of reference to archaeological interpretations in the alluvial plain of the Paraná River.
