Abstract

BOIXADOS, Roxana. Latest `plans for colonial La Rioja'. Relocations and closings of indian villages in thelate eighteenth century. Rev. Mus. Antropol. [online]. 2016, vol.9, n.2, pp.199-208. ISSN 1852-060X.

This article converses with classic works of Felix Lunato account for a series of "plans" which proposed the auction of the lands of the Indian villages and the relocation of its population at the end of the colony. The interests of the local elite and Bourbon officials were agreeing on the benefits of gathering several Indian villages in order to promote the collection of taxes, control the natives and seize land that had water rights. These policies Bourbon confronted with different type of resistance implemented by Native corporations.
