Abstract

DEGELE, Pamela Esther; CHAPARRO, María Gabriela  and  ENDERE, María Luz. Uses of heritage in a protected area. The case of boca de las sierras, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Rev. Mus. Antropol. [online]. 2018, vol.11, n.1, pp.171-182. ISSN 1852-060X.

Abstract The natural reserves of Buenos Aires province are regulated by Law Nº 10.907. This rule was created to promote the conservation of the environment and serves as a reference point to evaluate practices that support to that purpose. This article presents the case of the Natural Reserve of Mixed Objective Boca de las Sierras, created in 1999 in the Municipality of Azul, with the aim of contrasting the normative framework with the uses given to the protected landscape and heritage by different interest groups. According to this purpose, and through a qualitativequantitative study based on surveys, interviews, as well as audiovisual and written records, it was possible to classify the different uses into pressure, risk and opportunity factors. This constitutes a basic diagnosis that pretends to be useful to orient a sustainable management of the area, as well as to favor the understanding and study of other cases in the province.
