Abstract
IAMARINO, María Laura. Boundaries of the state religion and extension of the popular religion at el-Amarna (Egypt). Rev. Mus. Antropol. [online]. 2020, vol.13, n.3, pp.07-22. ISSN 1852-060X. http://dx.doi.org/http://doi.org/10.31048/1852.4826.v13.n3.26296.
Abstract The aim of this paper is to review several assumptions about the reform proposed during the reign of Akhenaten (1355-1338 B.C.) and the characteristics of the use of the spaces in el-Amarna. We will update the data on the occupation and duration of the Amarna period through a review of the use of planned and unplanned spaces associated with material evidence of religious practices, both official (linked to the cult of the Aten) and unofficial (related to traditional religion). Thus, we will use statistical testing to analyze the distribution of objects related to the religious sphere to determine the scope of the diversity of cults that coexisted in the Amarna areas.
