Abstract
SALAS, Nancy E. and MARTINO, Adolfo L.. Cariotipo de Odontophrynus cordobae Martino & Sinsch, 2002 (anura, leptodactylidae). BAG, J. basic appl. genet. [online]. 2007, vol.18, n.1, pp.1-5. ISSN 1852-6233.
Odontophrynus genus comprises 10 species. Odontophrynus cordobae is the one most recently defined. The mitotic and meiotic chromosomes of O. cordobae were described by standard techniques. We analyzed 18 males from eight areas of Cordoba province. Their chromosome number is 2n = 22. Pairs 1, 5-7, 10-11 show metacentric morphology and pairs 2-4 and 8-9 are submetacentric. Spermatocytes I show 11 bivalents. and Spermatocytes II show 11 dyads. All animals analyzed evidenced secondary constrictions in chromosomes of pair 4. Meiotic chromosomes confirm the diploid nature of all specimens studied.
