Resumen

FERREIRA, Víctor; SCALDAFERRO, Marisel; GRASSI, Ezequiel  y  SZPINIAK, Beatriz. Nivel de ploidía, estabilidad citológica y fertilidad en cruzas de Triticale X trigopiro (tricepiros). BAG, J. basic appl. genet. [online]. 2007, vol.18, n.1, pp.15-22. ISSN 1852-6233.

Hybrids obtained crossing triticale (X Triticosecale Wittmack) and wheat x Agropyron (= X Agrotricum A. Camus) are called Tricepiros. The objectives of this work were to analyzed the ploidy level, the cytological stability, and the fertility in tricepiros obtained by crossing hexaploid triticale x octoploid Agrotricum at Río Cuarto National University, Córdoba, Argentina. Plants F7 from four crosses were used. In the pollen mother cells, the number of bivalents and micronuclei in microspores were determined. Also, grains and spikelets per spike and the fertility index in mature spikes was analyzed. The ploidy level was 6x with a mean of 20.86 ± 0.78 bivalents per pollen mother cell. The crosses showed a significantly difference in the proportion of cells with 21 II; those with the highest percentage of pollen mother cells with 21 II had the fewest micronuclei. They also differed in fertility (F = 6,66***). The relationship between fertility index and cytological characters was significant and intermediate.
