This paper intends to give an account of the interrogative process, guided by theoretical concepts of psychoanalysis, that led to the product result of a sample that is a part of a research, the purpose of which is the study of the psychic processes that precede the times when the self injuries are caused by means of skin cutting. Firstly, the characteristics of this study, the strategies followed for its execution and the reasons for choosing only one case will be described. Then, a brief summary of some significant data on the case of a patient who self-harms by skin-cutting will be included. Following, the sample made up by the synthesis of ten therapeutic sessions of said patient will be detailed. A brief description of the David Liberman Algorithm (DLA) method used for the analysis of the material will be made. Later, the questions that guided the development of the sample as well as the proceedings and the criteria that were followed for its reduction will be posed. What is understood as cutting scenes will be defined, since said scenes were useful to locate the material and what is interpreted as antecedents. Later on, they will be analyzed and the obtained results will be discussed; and, lastly, some provisional conclusions will be introduced as the simple forms part of an ongoing research.
