Abstract

STOPPIELLO, Luis Alberto. A single case study: issues in the sample selection of a doctoral thesis research. Subj. procesos cogn. [online]. 2009, vol.13, n.2, pp.224-246. ISSN 1852-7310.

Based on a doctoral research in progress based on a study case, the author examines its development process to focus on the selection of the sample, the inconvenience encountered and the solutions proposed. From the methodological angle, he defines the study case which is different from the clinical case in the scope and the presence or absence of systematic and controlled conditions. The article analyzes the connection between goals and collecting and analyzing instruments and its impact on the sample, considering its characteristics.
