Abstract

GHERARDI, Carla Araceli. Rorschach test. A proposal of complementary interpretation of its signs, with the David Liberman Algorithm (DLA) concepts.: Case analysis. Subj. procesos cogn. [online]. 2013, vol.17, n.1, pp.118-158. ISSN 1852-7310.

General objectives of the study 1. Present a complementary approach to the interpretation of the Rorschach signs 2. Expand the scope of the traditional interpretation of the Argentine Rorschach School, including a detailed description of the seven wishes, defenses and states, basic concepts of the David Liberman Algorithm (DLA) 3. Provide an alternative operationalization the DLA concepts, by means of a complementary interpretation of the Rorschach. Specific objectives 1. Carry out the procedures and analysis of a full Rorschach protocol, from the standpoint of the traditional approach of the Argentine School of Rorschach Psychodiagnosis. 2. Obtain a diagnosis with the traditional approach of the Argentine School. 3. Operationalize the seven wishes, defenses and states, through the Rorschach semiology, based on location, determinant, content, frequency and special phenomena that appear in the answers of the respondent, in order to expand the scope of the traditional interpretation. 4. Obtain a diagnosis from this complementary approach. 5. Compare both diagnoses, in order to verify the degree of convergence between the two. Sample: 10 responses to the Rorschach test of an adult male, 28 years old. Instrument: Rorschach test. Results and conclusions From the traditional perspective point of view, the analysis of the ego functions of reality allowed to infer the predominance of the psychotic current, since reality testing was the function most implicated, followed by perception of reality, and finally, by adjustment, which was the most preserved of the three functions, allowing the individual some degree of adaptation to reality, avoiding massive, total psychotic decomposition. From the standpoint of the complementary Rorschach approach, taking the theoretical concepts of the DLA to interpret its signs, the prevalence of the psychotic current was also noted, as well as that of the toxic current. The results show that the proposed approach for this study can be considered an important complement to the traditional interpretation, since it allows to obtain a similar diagnosis while adding greater specificity concerning wishes, defenses, and states, and supplying the toxic current, of vital importance in clinical work nowadays. It should be noted, that the present study is a pilot study, and therefore its results must be validated in subsequent research with a greater number of cases.
