Abstract

BARRETO DUARTE, Josmar. Relevance of Awareness of Social Representations of Male Adolescents Regarding Paternity in Adolescence, for the Development of Social Policies. Subj. procesos cogn. [online]. 2013, vol.17, n.2, pp.17-36. ISSN 1852-7310.

In Brazil, little is known about research, discussions or public policies regarding adolescent paternity, since normally motherhood themes are prioritized, disregarding the adolescent father. In this context, the present article sought to reflect on the importance of learning about social representations of male adolescents regarding the adolescent paternity role. The study considers aspects of social representations, social policies, adolescence, sexuality and paternity. The research results stress the importance of the representations of male adolescents as regards adolescent paternity in view of contributing to the creation of social policies that facilitate the acceptance of paternity by male adolescent parents, since the adolescent who experiences the paternity process can make positive contributions, by manifesting to the state his difficulties and needs as well as deficiencies in present social policies.

Keywords : Adolescente; Sexualidad; Paternidad; Representaciones sociales; Políticas públicas; Adolescent; Sexuality; Paternity; Social representations; Social policies.
