The present article presents the state of the art of an on-going research on wishes, defenses and ideals manifested in journalistic discourse regarding the problem of political corruption. The article considers production on political corruption, political psychology, political discourse analysis and journalistic discourse analysis. The literature revision takes into account the nominal as well as the empirical definition of the concepts, and the reference frame of books and research on the subject. The state of the art analysis closes with a justification for the use of the David Liberman algorithm (DLA) discourse analysis methodology in the present research.
