Abstract

PALOMBO, María Angélica. Outlooks regarding void states in clinic. Subj. procesos cogn. [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.1, pp.165-188. ISSN 1852-7310.

This paper is part of an ongoing thesis on the theoretical range of the psychopathological notion of void states in the work of O. Kernberg, D. Winnicott. P. Marty, A. Green, D. Maldavsky and M. Recalcati. Firstly, the concept of void state for each of the selected authors is considered. Then, the description of relations between this state and some psychopathological frames is undertaken. The way in which the authors believe that these problems must be addressed in clinical work is next considered, and finally expectations of clinical change according to these psychoanalysts will be examined.

Keywords : Void; Lethargy; Unreality; Borderline states.
