Abstract

MALDAVSKY, David. Contributions to the mind study method (wishes and thoughts) of the therapist in session, in particular concerning countertransference disturbances. Subj. procesos cogn. [online]. 2017, vol.21, n.1, pp.84-104. ISSN 1852-7310.

The author focuses, on the one hand, on the method of study of flaws in the logical thinking of the therapist when intervening with the patient, and, on the other hand, on the method of study of the wishes in the therapist resulting from the influx of the patient, and which disrupt his clinical work. With regard to the logical flaws of the therapist, the author considers the contradictions between ideas and between ideas and facts, which includes logical contradictions in terms of the function of the interventions, in terms of the construction or the procedure and in terms of style. The author highlights the fact that, in the case of the logical flaws, intellectual displeasure concerning contradictions, which leads the process of thought to a stop, becomes anesthetized. After indicating directions for the investigation of these different forms of logical contradictions, the author goes on to suggest the discourse investigation approach for the therapist’s wishes and defenses generated by the influx of the patient’s psychic processes. The work ends with brief considerations concerning the possibilities of combining studies of the thoughts and wishes of the therapist in investigations on countertransference.

Keywords : Wishes of the therapist; Thoughts of the therapist; Countertransference; Enactment.
