Resumen
STEIN-SPARVIERI, Elena y MALDAVSKY, David. Instruments for the pragmatic analysis of journalistic discourse on corruption with the David Liberman Algorithm (DLA). Subj. procesos cogn. [online]. 2017, vol.21, n.1, pp.169-193. ISSN 1852-7310.
The pragmatic analysis of discourse is especially applicable in contexts of strongly structured language that manifest conflict in a non-explicit way. As an example, investigative journalism articles manifest attitudes for or against a situation and try to generate representations in the audience in order to induce it to take action, while maintaining the formal language of newspaper articles. In cases like this, a pragmatic speech act analysis allows to infer wishes and defenses not manifested in the semantic analysis of text. This article justifies the need for the development of the new instruments, then describes the theory and methodology on which they´re based, including the strategies devised to avoid bias. Then the article describes the instruments illustrating the phases with examples and, to conclude, it describes the type of results which can be obtained.
