Resumen

KARLIN, Marcos S.; COIRINI, R.; ROLLAN, A.  y  BACHMEIER, O.. Variability characterization of edafic environment in two localities of the Teuco-Bermejito interfluvial system, province of Chaco (Argentina). Multequina [online]. 2005, vol.14, n.2, pp.57-65. ISSN 1852-7329.

Spatial edafic variation and its causes, has been quantified in two localities of the Province of Chaco, to elaborate differentiated strategies of local development. Parcels of 1 ha has been sampled at 0-20 cm. Apparent density (Dap), organic matter (MO), extractable phosphorous, pH 1:1 and salinity has been analyzed. The topographic effect generates higher variability in Cabeza de Buey than in Nueva Pompeya, due to a major influence of the interfluvial system at the first locality. Significative differences exist in MO values between localities. There has not been correlation between MO and Dap with vegetation types. There has not been detected salinity at surface. This determination and pH contradict what the bibliography indicates referring to the presence of salts and sodium in these soils. Edafic variability would be consequence of the heterogeneity of original materials, being influenced by topography, not so by vegetation. Due to the great system heterogeneity, it is recommended a generalized management, but to elaborate particular strategies for each field because development possibilities can be found in some cases limited more by the nature of the resources than by the idiosyncrasy or capacity of each individual.

Palabras clave : Teuco-Bermejito interfluvial system; Spatial variability; Sustainable management.
