Resumen
ALMIRON, Martín; DALMASSO, A. y LLERA, J.. Use of Larrea Cuneifolia and Zuccagnia Punctata in the evaluation of sedimentary particulate material in a limestone of Los Berros - San Juan - Argentina. Multequina [online]. 2008, vol.17, n.1, pp.29-38. ISSN 1852-7329.
The sedimentary particulate material (MPS) from a limestone was evaluated using two native shrub species: Larrea cuneifolia Cav. and Zuccagnia punctata Cav. The samples were collected in five stations from the emission source, considering the direction ofprevailing winds. At each sampling point, leaf samples of each species were seasonally taken to determine the MPS. Simultaneously, in the same stations, Petri dishes with vaseline were placed, and their MPS were considered as a benchmark. In both species the height and leaf area was measured. Temporal variations in values of MPS in the plants were related to those found in Petri dishes. The increase in leaf surface and the decrease in height of plants were correlated significantly with theincrease in the MPS.
