The Balcarce hills of Buenos Aires province, have a great floral diversity. Such richness may contribute to carry out enviromental diagnoses that takes into consideration not only the diversity and endemism value but also issues related to plant conservation, degadation level and singularity. Senecio pulcher Hook & Arm (Asteraceae) is a native and perennial plant with basal rossetes of leaves and showy purple heads, which vegetates from August to January. The objective of this work was to asses its vegetative and reproductive growth under both field and greenhouse conditions. Vegetative and reproductive morphological parameters were measured in order to characterize the growth cycle of S. pulcher
