In April 2009, the Argentina Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists-Dietitians formed the Study Group on Food Sovereignty, made up of graduates in Nutrition having an interest in the subject. As a first objective, the Group decided to study three subjects: "The Right to Food", "Production and Availability of Food in Argentina" and "Basic Food Basket." This article is a summary of the progress made on the third subject mentioned.
