Abstract

BASILE, Natalia; PANIQUI, Nadia; TARICO, Sabrina  and  MORATAL IBANEZ, Laura. Anthropometric diagnosis of weight and height and feeding strategies of a vulnerable population. Diaeta [online]. 2012, vol.30, n.140, pp.11-17. ISSN 1852-7337.

In the present work, we determined anthropometric diagnosis of 320 children from Villa 31 and 31 bis using measurements of weight and height. Parallely, through 53 surveys, the feeding strategies the mothers currently use for good family nutrition were also analyzed. It was observed that currently, 10 years after the profound crisis of 2001, overweight appears as the principal nutritional problem in children, with a prevalence of 10,3% in children under 2, 21,5% in children from 2 to 10 and 23,8% in children older than 10.

Keywords : Villa 31 and 31 bis of Retiro; Overweight; Food strategies.
