Football is the most popular team sport in the world. There are many variables that must be optimized to achieve a good result; adequate food is one of them and it offers many benefits. In spite of these advantages , many players do not meet their nutritional goals . The main objective of this research was to describe the dietary parameters of football players of the University of Buenos Aires team. The secondary objectives were: To estimate the daily intake of energy and macronutrients. - To determine the percentage of adequacy of caloric intake , carbohydrate (HC ) and protein.- To describe the dietary profile of the pre -workout meal (PWM) and hydration. Materials and methods: The study was descriptive cross . For the evaluation of food intake, a 4-day food record was used. For the analysis , the chemical composition table of the University of Luján was used. Results: The sample was composed of 28 football players with an average age of 25.6 years old (SD ± 3.12 years old). The results from the 4-day food record are: The average of daily caloric intake (DCI ) was 2853 kcal (SD ± 612 Kcal ) . The percentage contributed by the macronutrients regarding the ICD was: carbohydrates 46.79 % (SD ± 7.8%), protein 18.9 % (SD ± 4% ) and fat 32.8 % (SD ± 6, 23 % ) . With respect to the food profile of the pre workout meal (PWM), only 7 of the 28 athletes performed adequately. Given the volume of ingested drink and type, only 7 of the 28 did well during training. It is recommended to provide Nutrition Education to athletes, mainly in the lower divisions, to improve their food profile, turning them into future multipliers of healthy concepts.
