Abstract

VEDOYA, Santiago. Ganz periacetabular osteotomy: vascular anatomy in relation with the acetabulum and femoral head. Rev. Asoc. Argent. Ortop. Traumatol. [online]. 2010, vol.75, n.2, pp.164-170. ISSN 1852-7434.

Background: This paper studies the vascular anatomy in relation to the Ganz Pariacetabular Osteotomy. Methods: This study is based on document reviews, on personal communications with Prof. Ganz and other relevant surgeons, and on the dissection of two cadaver Pelvis specimens injected with colored Latex. Results: During the surgery, some of the arteries of the blood supply of the acetabulum and femoral head were cut. Conclusions: The remaining arteries and the anastomotic net are enough to guaranty the acetabular and femoral head blood supply.
