The interpretation of regional aeromagnetic data of the Sierras de Chepes and Ulapes-Las Minas required the use of relevant enhancement techniques to precisely define geological features that are related to the presence of gold deposits in the region. New maps of the magnetic anomalous field reduced to the pole, high-pass filter, vertical fractional derivative, analytic signal amplitude and phase of the analytical signal were used to delineate shear zones, which in this region represent the main metallogenic controlling factors.
