Resumen

LEIVA, Flavia et al. Temporal changes of gravity (g4D) related to moderate earthquakes magnitude in the deformation front of San Juan. Geoacta [online]. 2015, vol.40, n.1, pp.10-24. ISSN 1852-7744.

In order to identify active cortical structures and to prepare models of the orogenic Andean front of San Juan, geophysical and geodetics surveys are conducted. So far, from gravity and magnetic models, the analysis of 15 years of temporal variations of gravity (Gravity 4D) and recent GPS measurements are aimed at interpreting data generated pre- co- and post-seismic deformation associated with earthquakes moderate magnitude in the most densely populated San Juan. The evolution of gravity changes in the last 15 years are analyzed in this paper. The temporal statistical behavior in 57 gravity stations belonging to the Red G2 has studied, which span over 8 reoccupations of gravity with high precision methodology. We found gravity changes related to seismic activity of moderate magnitude on the quebrada de La Flecha (2007) and Barboza hill (2012) confirmed by GPS data. Surrounding the San Juan city the obtained temporal evolution of the gravity gradients are aligned in four subregions and are the result of tectonic activity from faults in the crystalline basement, this was interpreted from gravity and magnetics proposed models.
