Resumen

CHRISTIANSEN, Rodolfo O; RODRIGUEZ, Aixa; MARTINEZ, Patricia  y  LINCE KLINGER, Federico. Advances in the statistical treatment of gravimetric data from San Luis and Comechingones sierras. the importance of gridding in subsequent processings. Geoacta [online]. 2015, vol.40, n.2, pp.76-86. ISSN 1852-7744.

Based on gravimetric measurements made by IGSV (Instituto Geofísico Sismológico Volponi) and UNS (Universidad Nacional del Sur) we proceeded to the homogenization of the data in order to make Bouguer anomaly maps. These will serve to analyze the cortical structures in the southern part of the Eastern Sierras Pampeanas of Argentina, between 31º and 33.5º S and 64º and 67.5º W, with a maximum resolution of approximately 2500 m. When working with higher derivatives we noted spurious results due to the Minimum Curvature (MC) method used for gridding the gravity data. This is undoubtedly a product of the irregular spacing of the initial data and a decay in the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) value. Therefore Kriging (KG) technique has been proposed and the results obtained by this procedure have been compared with the previous MC applying differential operators such as total horizontal derivatives of the tilt angle and second derivatives.
