The objective of this paper is to analyze the labour policies of the government of Córdoba in the thirties, with the focus on explaining the early process of institutionalization of state intervention in the labour troubles between 1930 and 1943. By means of this study, we intend to give an account of the specificity of the province as regards the process of institutional changes that took place in the pre-Peronist period in Argentina. The specific political context, characterized by the validity of democratic political practices that explain the course of development of social policies in Córdoba, will be taken into account.
