The aim of this paper is to estimate subsistence costs in Tucumán during the first half of the nineteenth century, starting from the construction and calculation of the basket of goods for domestic consumption. For this, we resorted to the Books of Procurement (daily record of expenses) from the Convent of Santo Domingo, one of the few available sources that provide an approximation of the patterns and habits of the social universe under study.
