Abstract

MARTINEZ, Ana Teresa. Cartography of the First Comprehensive Planning Project of Northwestern Argentina, or the Region as a Search. Poblac. soc. [online]. 2016, vol.23, n.2, pp.115-148. ISSN 1852-8562.

The organization and development of PINOA, in Santiago del Estero, Argentina in 1946, staged a debate about the demarcation and organization of space that reveals multiple sides. The circulating concept of region and the various proposals for territorial imagination speak about a widening up of possibilities, both in the ways of understanding the planning and the region. In this paper I work on the maps shown in the preparation bulletin where the mapping process is more important than the maps themselves since the goal seems to have been more about opening up imagination than about imposing predetermined projects at the event.

Keywords : Regionalization; Santiago del Estero; Regional planning.
