This article tries to understand the political processes in Salta from an ethnographic perspective, combining different strategies and methodological resources. Social transformations that occur in an agricultural farm located in Animaná (Calchaquí Valleys) in the 1970s are explored, focusing on the reconfigurations of the ownerlaborer structure. The breaking up of the residential work system, the emergence of labor demands, of new modes of access to housing, and the enabling of the shaping of statality are analyzed.
