Abstract

GUTIERREZ GALINDO, Blanca. The mobilizations for Ayotzinapa: three images 45. Cuad. CILHA [online]. 2020, vol.21, n.2, pp.141-165. ISSN 1852-9615.

The disappearance of 43 students in the state of Guerrero, Mexico, on September 26, 2014 generated a mobilization without precedent in the recent history of the country. The mobilization was driven by pain and outrage, but also by compassion and empathy, emotions that have sustained the public demand for justice and truth for six years. Based on Alfred Gell's idea of agency index, this article analyzes three images that have accompanied the mobilization and have configured a visual policy focused on responsibility with the Other.
