Abstract

AVERBACH, Márgara. Las Chicas Superpoderosas. Azúcar, flores y muchos colores: ingredientes para una renovada imagen conservadora del "poder" femenino. Mora (B. Aires) [online]. 2007, vol.13, n.2. ISSN 1853-001X.

In many aspects, Power Puff Girls -and, in a slightly different way, its translation for Latin American audiences- repeats the lack of imagination and the secret silences, covered by the apparent political correctness, which mark female characters in the great majority of Disney's production of films in the last years. This paper tries to describe the way the apparent politically correct surface and the conservative ideas are represented in the images, words and episodes of the Power Puff Girls with a brief analysis of certain similar details which can be found in the last Disney products.
