Abstract

NAVARRO SWAIN, Tania. Del "cliente" al proxeneta, la banalización de la prostitución. Mora (B. Aires) [online]. 2009, vol.15, n.2. ISSN 1853-001X.

Today, combat against pedophilia has become a daily headline in all occidental newspapers, but the tight connection linking child sexual abuse and institutionalized prostitution still remains invisible. Actually, how many abused little girls will not turn into prostitutes later on, attracted by this "profession"? Selling bodies for sexual proposal, whether forced on or not, is a paroxysmal social violence committed against prostituted women and all other women. Reduced to a commonplace, this violence is even more so, because of the worsening definition that is used to-day: a "work". In Brazil , this "work" is listed in the Brazilian Code of Professions at number 5198-05. Patriarchal justifications for professionalizing prostitution, show their more ignoble side in this "manual of prostitution" edited by the Brazilian Ministry.

Keywords : Prostitution; Violence; Patriarchy.
