Abstract

CHEJTER, Silvia. El camino de Buenos Aires: Prostitución, ayer y hoy. Mora (B. Aires) [online]. 2009, vol.15, n.2. ISSN 1853-001X.

This article presents a comparative analysis of cronicles and discussions on prostitution since the end of the XIX century to the first years of the XXth. Century. Among others, we compare two books, the first one published by Albert Londres, a French journalist, in 1927 (The road way to Buenos Aires) and the second, by Donna Guy, an american historian, Dangerouse sex in 1991. Both book aloud a comparative exercise on some main axes from the end of the XIX century in order to explore coincidences, disidences and novelties about the current debate on prostitution.

Keywords : Estatal policy; Economical and sexual power; The role of demand.
