Resumen

TABBUSH, Constanza  y  CAMINOTTI, Mariana. Emociones, movimientos y política en el norte Argentino: Análisis de la primera disputa pública entre la dirigente Milagro Sala y el senador Gerardo Morales. Mora (B. Aires) [online]. 2016, vol.22, n.1, pp.00-00. ISSN 1853-001X.

Social sciences have recently opened questions about emotions in collective action. The existing literature emphasizes the orchestration of group’s affections, their role in the creation and duration of social movements. Yet the experiences here described put emotions in motion and dissipate the rigid boundaries between activism, intimacy and the state. Through the example of a grassroots movement in the province of Jujuy, Argentina, this article suggests new pathways to conceptualize the emotional ties, work and economies that overlap and bring into being organizational and political experiences in Latin America. This empirical study examines the public emotional reactions that circulate in national newspapers on a particular event: the escrache or alleged attack of the senator Gerardo Morales (radical party) perpetrated by member of Organización Barrial Tupac Amaru in the province of Jujuy in 2009. Results indicate that, in a context of political confrontation, the circulation of hate defines the figure of the "enraged activist" as an enemy to be eliminated and as the exclusive carrier of negative traits of political practices. In addition, it stress that the affective labour developed by grassroots organization erodes the boundaries between movement and intimacy, and opens the question of the regulation of gender and sexuality in the neighborhoods controlled by the movement.

Palabras clave : Emotions; Social Movements; Argentina; Organización Barrial Tupac Amaru.
