This article presents the need to discuss the fundamental elements of traditional historiography of the labor movement in Chile, crossed by male canons related to the hero, the martyr and his spectacular manly destinations. We propose instead, the biographical reconstruction of a relevant female figure in the labor movement, through which problematize the possibility of rethinking female stories beyond spectacularity, with special emphasis on the private and unknown world of life of Carmela Jeria Gómez, founder and director of the first feminist worker's newspaper in Chile. We put on value the private dimension of her life as a valid space to its historical and political study and propose new methodological questions with the aim of expanding ways of knowing the female historical situation.
