Abstract

CARDOSO, Yamila P  and  BOGAN, Sergio. Ampliación de la distribución de Trichomycterus barbouri (Siluriformes, Trichomycteridae) para la Argentina. Rev. Mus. Argent. Cienc. Nat. [online]. 2015, vol.17, n.2, pp.147-151. ISSN 1853-0400.

Trichomycterus barbouri (Eigenmann, 1911) is a little-known species with a discontinuous distribution from the Beni River in Bolivia, in the Amazon River basin, to northwestern and central Argentina, in the Río de la Plata basin. Here, we describe new records of T. barbouri from three rivers of the chaco-pampean plain, two in the Santiago del Estero province and one in the Cuarto River basin in Córdoba province. These reports allow expanding the known area of distribution of the species, extending southwards the limit of the known distribution. Trichomycterus barbouri is the only species of the genus widely present in the chaco-pampean plain.
