This special section of the Revista del Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales nueva serie coincides with the 90th anniversary of the incorporation of Dr. José Yepes (1897-1976) at the head of the Colección Nacional de Mastozoología. In this introduction, we review the content of the contributions that make up this section, with which we intend to honor this remarkable - although at the same time little known - figure of the mammalogy in Argentina.
